Take the A3 out of London heading towards Guildford.
Approximately three miles after Guildford, leave the A3 and take the A283 to Milford.
In Milford turn left at the second set of traffic lights.
Go straight over the roundabout, staying on the A283 towards Petworth and Chichester (don't take the A286 towards Haslemere).
Staying on the A283 you will go through Wormley, Chiddingfold, Northchapel and finally Petworth.
In Petworth, follow the one way system and signs to Chichester (A285).
Approximately 6 miles from Petworth, just as you come down a fairly long hill with a sharp bend to the left at the bottom, turn left (signposted Eartham and Slindon).
Stick on this road through Eartham, (past the George and Dragon pub) until you eventually hit the main A27 dual carriageway (about 2 miles).
You have to turn left here.
Just over half a mile, take the right hand exit at the roundabout sign-posted A29 Bognor Regis. Drive along this road (you will see Fontwell race course on your right) exactly 0.5 miles and turn first right into Level Mare Lane.
The 'Level Mare Lane' sign post is not visible from this direction but the lane is the first right hand turn on the A29, (0.5 miles from the roundabout) and is opposite a small lay-by, on which stands the only street lamp in the road.
Go down Level Mare Lane approximately 600 yards, Northfields House is the second entrance on the left, it has a white gate with a tall beech hedge on either side and a gravel drive.
It is just after the entrance for Bayard Stables which has a feather boarded fence and some white bollards on the kerbside.
Head West along the M27 until you get to the Fontwell roundabout.
Take the second exit at the roundabout sign-posted A29 Bognor Regis.
Drive along this road (you will see Fontwell race course on your right) exactly 0.5 miles and turn first right into Level Mare Lane.
